Our Classic holder has been a favorite for 14 years. Over time, we have improved its shielding ability and reduced the size and weight. The US Patent office even recognized it as a "Stronghold of ingenuity" in a recent publication. We were delighted to see most US Patent office employees in Washington DC using this holder during a visit to discuss another patent.

The top-load design of our Classic holder has been popular through the years. As smart chipped ID cards have become more prevalent, more workers need to remove their cards to place them in their computers for access. With the Classic, removing and replacing the card in the holder is effortless – simply slide up and out to remove, then slide in down until you feel the click to relock it in place.

When it comes to using your card for contactless entry, the Classic shines. No need to remove the card from the holder or remove your gloves. Simply pinch the top, and the card moves away from the protective shielding, allowing it to be read by the door scanner. Then, just let go, and our spring clip design automatically places the card back in the shielded position to prevent thieves from scanning the card.

This holder is FIPS 201 approved and designed to protect cards operating at 13.56Mhz and above, including US federal employee ID cards, CAC cards, credit and debit cards, most hotel room keys, and transit cards. If you have a 125khz HID Prox card, you should order our BloxProx version, which can protect those as well.

Durability and shielding have been our focus in improving the design over the years. We chose the most durable polycarbonate formulation for the plastic parts and have run over this holder multiple times with the owner's 4-wheel-drive truck without it breaking. The spring clips are true stainless steel, ensuring they won't rust like the nickel-plated steel found in lesser-quality products.

Our open-face design allows you to choose from a variety of colors, unlike most other holders. We've incorporated over a decade of real-world testing experience into our design, including a lesson learned about the original single-retention-hole spring clips that could be turned into a spring clip launcher, which led to a redesign.
